Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) and Chris Watson (born in Paris). They relocated to Oxfordshire at the age of five and enrolled in at the Dragon School. From the age of six Emma was aware that she wanted to be an actress. For a number of years she trained at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theater school, where she learned performing and singing. She had already performed in several Stagecoach as well as school plays by the time she was ten years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000), the film adaptation of J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was filmed for first time in 1999. Emma was initially discovered as a casting agent by her Oxford drama instructor. David Heyman announced to Emma that after eight consecutive auditions, she and Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. Emma's first film on the screen took place in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone which was released in 2001. It broke all records in the opening day sales as well as opening week-end take-offs and became the top-grossing movie in 2001. Reviewers praised the film, and especially those who were young. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her outstanding performance.
