Matthew Matt James was born in North Carolina on December 5 1991. James is the son of Manny and Patty James and is of mixed race. The mother of Manny James was caucasian while his father was Nigerian. He graduated in 2010 from Sanderson High School. In 2015, he graduated with an undergraduate degree in Economics from Wake Forest University. James' fame kick-started when he made his on-screen debut as a reality show star on The Bachelorette. In the year 2020, he was selected as the bachelor in season 25, becoming The first African American male lead which later premiered in 2021. James was the best selection for the role as he is well-rounded tall, athletic and has a good sense of humor. Rachael Krukconnell was his love interest at the end of season. In 2021, he joined forces with the well-known dancer Arnold to take part in season 30 of Dancing with the Stars. James as well as Arnold placed 12th on the show.
